Inksanity: from back-and-forth messages to bookings that land on their own

Background
Background and vision
Inksanity had the work, the customers and the craft. What they were missing was somewhere it could all be seen, and booked.
A tattoo studio sells on trust. The customer needs to see who is holding the machine, what they have done before, and how the line looks up close, before they are willing to offer up their skin. That was exactly the part that existed nowhere online.
The owner’s ambition was easy to say and hard to build: the studio’s work should look as sharp on a screen as it does on an arm, and a new customer should be able to go from "that piece is wild" to a booked slot without messaging anyone.
Solution
The solution
We built the site around two things: showing the work, and removing the conversation it took to book.
The gallery and the artist profiles do the heavy lifting on trust. The customer can see the style, find the artist who matches it, and form an impression without having to ask anything.
Booking is where the working day changed most. Appointments used to sit in the inbox and in message threads, and every single slot took a round of messages about free times, price and design. Many of those conversations never became a booking. They just went quiet. Now the customer picks a time in a calendar that only shows what is actually free, and the confirmation goes out automatically.
The customer can also attach a picture of the design the tattoo is meant to be, and describe where on the body it goes. It sounds like a detail, but it moves the preparation. The tattooist knows the job before the customer walks through the door, and can draw, set aside the right amount of time and pick needles from something concrete instead of a description in a message thread.
- Free times existed only in the owner’s head and calendar
- The calendar shows only times that are actually free
- Every booking took several messages back and forth
- The customer books without messaging anyone
- Conversations went quiet and ended without an appointment
- Confirmation goes out automatically once a time is taken
- The design and its placement were only known on arrival
- A picture and a description come with the booking, so the work can be prepared
- The work was scattered across social media
- The gallery and artist profiles gather the work in one place

Results and data
Before the site went live you could not book online at Inksanity. Every appointment took a conversation first. That is what the number below is measured against.
- 20
new customers have booked online at Inksanity since launch
The number comes from Inksanity’s own booking system and covers the first month after the July 2026 launch. It counts only times booked online. Enquiries by phone, by message and in person are not included.

Shall we build the same for you?
We start by finding out where your time goes, and build from there. The first conversation costs nothing.
